News of Toxins in Everyday Life from around the Web

5/9

Here is an encouraging story about the City of Edmonton and its efforts to recycle and to take steps to protect the public against heavy metal toxins.

“Global Electric and Electronic Processing facility began recovering the city’s accumulated electronic waste to take harmful heavy metals and recyclables out of the waste stream.”

However it does raise the question about all the cities around the world and what are they doing with regard to these problems? And if they are not taking steps to take out the harmful heavy metals out of the waste stream how much exposure are their citizens enduring with regards to these toxins.

5/7

From the injuryboard.com, there is an article about the dangers of cadmium poisoning.

“Cadmium poisoning can occur through ingestion, inhalation, or absorption through the skin. At or near home sites, cadmium exposure can occur through industrial run-offs, insecticides, and even old galvanized pipes or other containers partially composed of cadmium. Just allowing your children to play outside in the dirt may cause exposure if the soil is contaminated.”

Another warning of the need to detoxify and be aware of the toxins in your environment.

4/26

There is increasing concern that in at least some artifical turf fields may be a real source of exposure to lead including in vapor forms.

This is just one of snippet of many stories on this: Two fields in New Jersey were closed this week after state health officials detected what they said were unexpectedly high levels of lead in the synthetic turf and raised fears that athletes could swallow or inhale fibers or dust from the playing surface."

Again we have another source of heavy metal toxins that is extremely dangerous. It is prudent to test for heavy metal poisoning with our hair test and consider detoxifying with our Oral Chelation Detox Heavy Metals Formula

4/16

Here is an interesting take on Autism, essentially that there are many factors that may be in play:

“The latest views about children with autism is that it is a multifactorial problem, due to a combination of vaccination, heavy-metal exposure and even to microwaves, as generated by mobile phones. Typically, a child exhibits gut conditions, problems with detoxification and heavy-metal poisoning.”

Heavy Metal detoxification is something that everyone should consider.

4/15

A link between heavy metals and weight gain?

"Other research, in addition, has shown that cooked animal flesh and fat significantly contributes to diabetes and then we also have trans fatty acids and we have pesticides and herbicides, and also heavy metal toxicity are kind of the main issues that they result in obesity, 90% of diabetics - type 2 diabetics are obese for example" Read more

4/14

Electronics generally speaking contain a great deal of heavy metals.

"California, which in 2006 banned all electronics from its landfills. Electronics can contain toxins such as cadmium, mercury and chromium. California first outlawed dumping of lead-heavy cathode ray tubes in 2001."

The danger is that if these products are in put in dumps they may get in the waterways or in some cases are incinerated which means they can get in the air. This article gives hope for the recycling while also alluding to the danger.

4/2

The direct dangers of mercury and the difficulty of disposing of mercury were highlighted when a couple in Oklahoma was trying to recover gold from electronic equipment for profit. The man is on life support.

This story underlines the danger of mercury and how pervasive it is in our environment.

Read more here.

4/1

Here is a frightening and interesting article exploring the link between cancer and diabetes but also the link between heavy metals and diabetes.

“Metals such as iron, mercury, arsenic, lead and possibly aluminum play a role in the actual destruction of beta cells through stimulating an auto-immune reaction to them after they have bonded to these cells in the pancreas. It is well documented in the medical literature that chemicals and drugs can cause temporary or permanent insulin-dependent diabetes.”

“Both mercury and uranium oxide are floating in the environment like invisible clouds that have spread out everywhere.”

The emerging picture is that heavy metals are really poisonous and do damage to a broad range of body functions. Please consider our Detox Heavy Metals Oral Chelation and Age-less Formula.

3/31

Toxins accumulate in primarily fat cells and this underscores the vital role the liver plays in detoxification.

Antioxidants and liver support are vital to detoxifying. Read more here. Extreme Health offers powerful antioxidants like Tibetan Goji Berries and Organically Grown Tea to complement our Liver Cellular Rejuvenation Support Formula.

3/27

In Oregon there is concern that the recent large surge in the price of gold will increase mining for gold and inherently more heavy metals like arsenic and mercury will be released and get into waterways.

"The problem, explained Gilmour, who previously served as the county's health officer for 15 years, is the naturally occurring arsenic, mercury and other toxins that are released by large-scale hard-rock mining."

Gilmour said any heavy metal pollution in the Rogue River would affect cities such as Medford, which depend on the river for millions of gallons of drinking water during the summer. Gold Hill and Grants Pass also withdraw river water for domestic use, he said."

3/23

Here is an interesting and cautionary report on the exposure to children or others riding in a car with someone smoking:

"Even with the most ventilation possible -- all the windows open in a moving car -- the level of second-hand smoke was very high, close to what would be found in a smoky bar."

"With all the windows closed and the engine off, the level skyrocketed to more than 11 times a smoke-filled pub. Second-hand smoke levels were so high the researchers thought air-quality monitors were broken. "

3/20

Here is a story warning about the toxic consequences of throwing out products such as alkaline batteries and fluorescent light bulbs in the normal trash. “Chemicals in these products can “get into the air, food, water and people’s bodies says Leslie Kline, Fresno County , Calif. ’s recycling coordinator.

This is a reminder to be careful how you dispose of these types of products and a warning that toxins from these products are in our environments. With this in mind it is important to consider supporting your liver with Extreme Health ’s Cellular Liver Rejuvenation Formula and and taking Detox Heavy Metals-Oral Chelation and Age-less formula.

3/18

Here is a good article about toxins in personal care products and how it is not unusal for people especially with women are leaving their house with over 200 chemicals on their bodies.

Everything you put on your skin your liver must filter.

3/14

Lest we forget not all toxins are man made as there are naturally occurring toxins like the Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning that are causing the ban on shellfish in the bay area.

"PSP results from eating shellfish that contain naturally occurring toxins. These toxins are derived from planktonic organisms called dinoflagellates. Shellfish are filter feeders that ingest and accumulate these toxic dinoflagellates in their system." Read more.

3/13

"Feeling heavy, loaded down, not operating at full speed, or maybe you're feeling a little like the Stay-Puff Marshmallow man. If you're experiencing any of these, your bloodstream may be plagued by scores of toxins floating around and reeking havoc on your poor body." Read more here.

If you have these symptoms please consider detoxification, liver support and antioxidants.

3/12

Here is another article about our everyday exposure to toxins.

Last year, a coalition of environmental groups measured chemicals in the blood and urine of 35 Americans from across the country and found that all participants contained flame retardants and 95 percent contained chemicals commonly found in plastics.

Detoxification is something everyone should strongly consider.

3/11

An interesting article exploring the links between heavy metal exposure and Autism and Alzheimer's.

Regardless it is prudent to detoxify heavy metals. Our Detox Heavy Metals-Oral Chelation formula is something to strongly consider.

3/10

"A vast array of pharmaceuticals — including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones — have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation shows."

Yet another example of our exposure to potentially harmful substances and another reason to detoxify and support your liver the primary organ for detoxification.

3/7

"Evidence is growing that chemicals leached from plastics used in cooking and food or drink storage are harmful to human health. The most disturbing of these are hormone (endocrine) disrupters, such as bisphenol A (BPA), which have been linked to the growth of cancer cells," Mr. Sinha explains from the story in the Ottawa Business Journal.

Please consider Extreme Health's Liver Cellular Rejuvenation Formula to help your body detoxify.

3/6

The Canadian Senate environment committee says "successive federal governments have not done enough to protect Canadians from toxic chemicals in household products." Article

"The committee assessed federal protections against two harmful substances — mercury and perfluorinated chemicals, or PFCs, which are found in stain repellents and non-stick chemicals."

Yet another example of the dangers of toxins around us and government authorities confirming the inherent need to detoxify.

3/5

This article also talks about the increase in kidney failure noted by officials in Canada which they relate to heavy metal exposure.

Both mercury and uranium oxide are floating in the environment like invisible clouds that have spread out everywhere. They are raining down on us, damaging and damning our future. Simultaneous exposure to mercury and uranium shows markedly increased damage to the kidneys than when exposure is to each metal singly.

Inherent in this discussion which is not often focused on is not only the cumulative effect of heavy metal toxins but the exacerbating effect of how they combine to do more damage together than individually.

3/4

"In their book "Infectious Diabetes", Doug Kaufman and Dr. David Holland describe a significant link between diabetes and cancer, pointing out that when our immune system is compromised and unable to fight off a fungal invasion and stop the proliferation, that it is not coincidence that diabetics have a 4 times greater rate of liver cancer." Natural News

This is a strong argument for diabetics to support and detoxify their liver with Extreme Health's Liver Cellular Rejuvenation Support Formula

3/3

From this story, "Oceans are probably flooded with organochlorine pesticides, DDT, lindane, poly cholorobenzenes and toxic metals like mercury and arsenic. In 1995, a Greenpeace independent study revealed that 21 of the 22 brands of fish oil in the United States failed in terms of heavy metal toxicity."

If you eat fish, detoxification with oral chelation is something you should consider.

2/28

Here is an interesting article on the confusion relating to plastic bottles, aluminum bottles and tap water and the potential dangers of all these.

The bottom line is no matter what choice you make there is a need to detoxify and help your liver detoxify.

2/21

"Two of the largest U.S. toy companies, Toys "R" Us Inc. and Mattel Inc., said they will phase out nickel-cadmium batteries, a technology associated with widespread environmental contamination and health problems in China."

"The batteries have been a target of environmentalists and workers-rights groups, because they contain cadmium, a toxic heavy metal that can cause kidney failure, lung cancer and bone disease." Read more.

Yet another example of heavy metal toxins that are around us and why you may wish to consider oral chelation.

2/20

This a very big story that we pick up another account of.

“There is now mounting evidence that paternal exposure can also adversely affect fetal and postnatal development of offspring and that this imprint can be expressed in subsequent generations.” ScienceDaily.com

The serious of this cannot be overstated as is the inherent need to detoxify.

2/18

This is really serious. This report basically says environmental toxins taken in today. can harm future gnera tions.

"Men who smoke, drink heavily or are exposed to pesticides while trying for a baby could harm not only their baby but future generations of offspring too, scientists say. Researchers said animal studies showed abnormalities caused by environmental toxins were caused by genetic changes that were passed on through generations."

Detoxification should be a priority for everyone. We offer our Complete Detoxification Program.

2/14

Here is a story about the toxins in our body.

"We all carry the residue of modern living deep within our bodies. We get mercury from fish, pesticides from apples and polyvinyl chlorides from that "new-car smell." A 2005 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study of more than 2,000 people across the country found traces of more than 60 toxic compounds, including such nasty stuff as dioxins and uranium, in the blood and urine of participants. As the CDC noted then, nobody really knows what -- if anything -- these substances are doing to our bodies."

The artilce goes on to talk about Infrared Saunas not really being useful in getting toxins out of our bodies. Oral Chelation is a valid option.

2/13

Here is a story about asbestos exposure from a fire in Arkansas

"Tests done following the Jan. 29 fire at the Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority show asbestos contamination in the ash and debris.
“The area around the burned buildings remains cordoned off and posted. The public is urged not to go into the contaminated area for their own safety. Additional testing has been scheduled of the site to ensure the safety of the citizens of Sebastian County,” Hudson stated."

It is important to remeber fires have the potential to release serious toxins.

2/12

"Milwaukee County residents may have a greater risk of health problems such as low birth weight, stroke and coronary heart disease as a result of environmental toxins, according to a new federal report.'

Evidently the report ties the pollution to abandoned industries that maybe tied to the “the county's higher-than-average rates of infant mortality, low birth weight, premature births and deaths from colon cancer, coronary heart disease and stroke.”

Please detoxify because increasingly the toxins around us are having profound impacts on our health.

2/11

Here is a sad story from New Zealand about a young painter whose premature death is tied to profession.

Gibson's rare blood cancer has been linked to years of absorbing vapours from solvent-based products like paint thinners.

An investigating Occupational Safety and Health Service (OSH) cancer panel concluded his 13 years as a painter was "sufficiently lengthy to make an occupational cause for leukaemia likely".

Toxins are in our everyday life. We should all consider detoxifying.

2/8

This story on how 'Intense diabetes treatment found to increase death risk' is sobering to Diabetics and their loved ones.

It is another reminder of the American Diabetic Association’s and the American Cardiologist Association’s finding that 2 of 3 diabetics die of heart attack or stroke.

In the face of this unsettling information, Diabetics should consider the benefits of Extreme Health ’s Original Oral Chelation / Age-less Set--The Heart Supplement Formula..

2/7

Here is a story that folk medicines that immigrants bring may be the second largest source of lead exposure to children behind lead paint.

Some examples cited are:

Greta, azarcon, ruedo: Mexican powders given to treat constipation in children may contain as much as 90 per cent lead.

Litargirio: A powder used by Dominican immigrants for such ills as foot fungus and body odour can contain up to 79 per cent lead.

This is very unsettling and underscores one has to be very wary of what might contain lead.

2/6

Here is a list of the most polluted places in the world. It is sobering to read.

There is a preponderance of mining and smelting throughout some of these highly polluted locations. Hopefully, you don’t live anywhere near these sites but one should be aware if any mining or smelting is taking place anywhere near where you live. If you do, please consider detoxifying and looking at our Oral Chelation Detox Heavy Metals Plus Formula.

1/22

In this article : Pediatrician David Berger says young children should be tested for lead. He believes that any child with a neurodevelopment disorder should be checked for heavy metal toxicity. He says this includes autism, seizure disorders, ADHD and even Tourette’s Syndrome.

The article also makes the point that, “research shows even low levels of lead can cause problems. One study reports each one point that the lead level goes up between zero and ten - it’s associated with an IQ loss of 0.7.

These are profound statements and information that every parent should ponder in the face of the reports from the lead in toys and the lead paint that children can be exposed to.

Please consider detoxification.

1/16

"Meycauayan in the Philippines , known as the seat of the Philippine jewelry industry, just 19 kilometers north of Manila , is on the verge of mercury and heavy metal toxicity."

"It has about 114 registered jewelers and about 2,000 more small and unregistered manufacturers with very little investments in modern tools and equipment. A large percentage of the population derives their livelihood from this sector."

"Earlier, the New York-based Blacksmith Institute described the river system of Meycauayan, Marilao and Obando in Bulacan as among the most polluted in the developing world." Read more.

As seen in this example some industries like the manufacture of jewelry have the capacity for significant heavy metal toxins. Be aware of the industries that you live near and what they maybe releasing into the air, soil and water and take action to detoxify appropriately.

1/15

Here is some information about some problems and toxins that are left behind when some mines close.

When a mining corporation comes to extract resources and then shuts down operations, there are toxins and other substances remaining that require clean-up. What remains are copper oxides, mercury, arsenic, uranium and other toxins are leaching

These are serious toxins and underline the need to detoxify.

1/14

Toxins in the sky from airplanes:

”Chemical ingredients in conventional jet fuel spray include kerosene, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, soot particulate, carbon monoxide, and toxins such as benzene and formaldehyde A US study found jet fuel contaminates in 100% of lactating mothers' breast milk, and some infants getting ten times the 'safe' limit of perchlorate, another additive, which adversely affects brain and thyroid function.” Read more.

Yet another reason to detoxify-start with Liver Cellular Rejuvenation Support Formula.

1/10

From Yemen : Pesticides are responsible for 95% of liver diseases

According to health experts, some foodstuffs, whether imported or locally produced, can cause liver diseases such as hepatitis and cirrhosis. Pesticides used on fruits and vegetables have yet another effect upon the liver, as they contain toxins. Read more.

The article makes the point that clogging up the liver with toxins impedes the liver from doing its important vital tasks for your body. Our Liver Cellular Rejuventation Support Formula is highly recommended for detoxifying and suppporting the Liver.

1/9

"Chinese officials declared Tuesday that a four-month campaign to reduce illegal pesticides and steroids in foods has achieved success." Read more.

However, they cautioned that there is still room for improvement. So it is safe to assume if you have been eaten food from China you may have consumed illegal pesticides and steroirds. Please detoxify.

1/8

“The National Autism Association (NAA) is pointing out flaws in a study out today claiming that the mercury-based vaccine preservative thimerosal has never had a role in causing autism.”   Particularly they are asking “ Why do so many children regress into autism after receiving vaccines, subsequently have symptoms of heavy metal toxicity, then get better when mercury is removed through chelation?”

Very good questions, we applaud the NAA for raising these issues and questions.

1/7

In Australia pet birds are getting sick by licking and sucking on toy Christmas presents.

"Veterinary practices are reporting an increase in the number of pet birds with heavy-metal poisoning and other injuries sustained by eating parts of toys. The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) says lead, zinc or copper poisoning is one of the most common problems its members are seeing at bird clinics. "Painted toys and metal keys are also often toxic," he said in a statement. " Read more.

This is something to keep in mind for you bird pets and most importantly your children.

12/19

Not to dampen the Christmas spirit, but it is another reminder of how pervasive heavy metal toxins are and why detoxification is so necessary.

“recyclable re-source, artificial trees contain non-biodegradable plastics and possible metal toxins such as lead", read more here.

Have a happy holidays and please detoxify.

12/18

From Qatar this warning about the dangers of mercury poisoning that can affect the kidneys and the nervous systems.

“Dr Hassan Effar, acting head of occupational health at the National Health Authority (NHA), said the most common ways in which people can be affected by mercury are breathing in contaminated air, eating contaminated fish and using mercury-based dental fillings.”

Mercury poisoning is serious; please detoxify and consider oral chelation.

12/17

With all the talk of lead it is important not to forget our exposure to and dangers of other heavy metals like mercury.

"From the air we breathe to the water we drink and the food we eat, mercury seems to be everywhere; therefore, it is almost impossible to avoid exposure to this harmful agent. Symptoms of mercury toxicity may easily be overlooked, or worse, underestimated and include insomnia, nervousness, memory loss, dizziness, depression, fatigue, and muscle weakness." Read more from Dr. John Pittman.

Please detoxify.

12/15

A warning and something positive from Grist.org
"In fact, one major concern related to eating seafood, exposure to mercury, does not apply to oysters. Because they are so low on the food chain, oysters contain very little of that dangerous heavy metal; unlike top-feeders like tuna, oysters don't accumulate mercury since they don't usually eat anything that contains it."
If you eat seafood you may want to consider oral chelation .

12/13

This is alarming.

"It's not just lead and it's not just toys made in China," Tracey Easthope, director of the Ecology Center's Environmental Health Project said in a statement. "There is virtually no government oversight on any chemicals used to make any children's products — even those made in the United States."

"Easthope stressed that the group is not saying that the presence of these chemicals poses any immediate danger to children. "We are saying that it's a concern because kids are exposed to so many hazardous chemicals for no reason. This is an unnecessary and preventable exposure."

Please checkout the Ecology Center’s www.HealthyToys.org — where the toys are listed by brand or type along with a listing of any chemicals found in them.

Please consider detoxification even for your children.

12/12

Firing ranges are major source of lead poisoning.

Firing ranges expose the environment and the ecosystem to lead pollution caused by the presence of lead in ammunition projectiles. This makes lead pollution a major concern for the public. When these bullets are fired, they emit lead particles that are then inhaled, absorbed into the skin or disposed of in community landfill facilities.

This is a serious matter as lead is very toxic.

12/11

Are diseases afflicting Zavalla-area residents are being caused by toxins or pollutants?

"Two children in two years time develop the same rare brain cancer. Numerous cases of other forms of cancer, thyroid conditions and fibromyalgia syndrome appear to plague the people of Zavalla and other communities surrounding Sam Rayburn Reservoir."

"It's in the water," said Dr. Alexander Orlov, a Lufkin-based doctor who steadfastly agrees with the Zavalla community's first instinctive suspicion toward the common denominator — the water." Read more here.

We would concur that heavy metals and toxins are something that should be always investigated.

Please detoxify.

12/10

A Michigan-based environmental group tested "1200 toys. 17 percent had lead levels that exceed the federal recall standard of 600 parts per million according to the Ecology Center. And it wasn't just lead that was found. The nonprofit center also found other chemicals such as cadmium, arsenic and mercury in a small percentage of the toys, as well as toys made with polyvinyl chloride, which often contain toxic additives, such as phthalates." Read more here.

Please exhibit care in buying toys for your children but please consider detoxification.

11/27

"In September, Clean Water Action tested 50 common toys made with PVC-vinyl, a type of plastic, and found 11 of them contaminated with lead."

Lead in plastic toys, this is something that many people may not be aware of.

The article also reports, " Even at 1 part per million, the heavy metal can suppress a protein in the brain the body creates to learn. Larger amounts can reduce IQ, cause disabilities, hyperactivity, hearing loss, seizures, comas and death, according to the testimony."

The extend of lead exposure we face continues to expand. Please detoxify and consider our Heavy Metals Detox Oral Chelation.

11/26

"A find of toxic dioxin in one spot of the Saginaw River could be the most concentrated ever found, according to a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency scientist involved in cleanup efforts downstream from Dow Chemical Co. facilities in Midland." Read more here.

Continually officials are surprized at the stunning level of toxins they are finding in different palces. Frequently the more accurate the equipment used to find toxins, the more toxins they are finding.

In the face of these toxins it is important to help your liver, your primary organ of detoxification. We recommend our Liver Cellular Rejuvenation Support Formula.

11/19

In ScienceDaily.com there is a report on how toxic marine waterways are:

“Effluents from industrial or municipal sources may contain hundreds to thousands of chemicals,.”

The report talks about the toxicity of water is likely underestimated around the world, for example not really understanding the interaction between chemical toxins.

There is necessity for governments and industry to accurately assess the level of toxicity and move to reduce those toxins, for individuals their response should be to detoxify.

11/7

The Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow conducted tests on volounteers to assess their exposure to certain chemials.

“Volunteers were tested for 20 chemicals that fall into three groups of toxins: Phthalates, used in vinyl and plastics including toys, shower curtains and air fresheners; Bisphenol A, used to make reusable plastic water bottles and plastic silverware; and Polybrominated Diphenol Ethers, found in flame retardants used in furniture and electronic casing.”

“According to the Centers for Disease Control, although more research is needed, tests have linked the chemicals to harmful effects on the reproductive, neurological and immune systems of animals.”

Read more here.

This is alarming and underscores the need for all of us to detoxify.

11/6

Here is an interesting report from Bangladesh that contains important information for us North Americans.

A study in Bangladesh estimates that the average cell phone is retired after about 18 months. So, more or less 32.5m cell phone in Bangladesh will produce tons of e-waste, including hazardous chemicals such as arsenic, beryllium, cadmium, lead, nickel and zinc as well as plastic and flame retardants within next 2 to 3 years. These chemicals can filter into soil and groundwater as well as produce toxic gases when trash is burned in incinerators.

These persistent, bioaccumulative toxins, or PSTS, have been associated with cancer and a range of reproductive, neurological, and developmental disorders.. Most of the persistent toxins and, PBTs contained in cell phones are in the printed wiring board and liquid crystal display.

We should pause about buying the latest cell phone and ensure that our old cell phone is recycled safely.

11/5

More and more parents in Pennsylvania are not having their children vaccinated.

"Many parents believe vaccinations against diseases such as measles, diphtheria, mumps and chicken pox pose a danger to children because the serums contain ingredients such as mercury and aluminum. More Pennsylvania parents are choosing not to vaccinate their children."

Read more here.

11/2

Building on the success of removing lead from gasoline, lead concentration in the air have declined about “96% from 1980 to 2005.”

From the USAToday, "now, an economist and a housing researcher say they have come up with a plan that could virtually wipe out lead poisoning in a few years: Find every home in America built before 1960 and replace the old, original, lead-painted windows"It's a no-brainer," says Ruth Ann Norton of the Baltimore-based Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning, which since 2000 has been pushing for a sweeping window-replacement program. "It can be the difference between sending (children) to the hospital or sending them to college."

It is an interesting and probably good idea, and if you live in or have lived in a home built before 1960, it is a good idea to test your children, we offer have a hair test kit and please detoxify with our Detox Heavy Metals Oral Chelation.

10/31

This is alarming. Not only because of the deadly toxins but they are not sure how they got there.

”Toxic mercury and selenium that has been found in channel catfish in the Allegheny River near Kittanning”

"Fish, essentially, are the 'canaries in the coal mines,'" said Conrad Daniel Volz, assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, Center for Environmental Oncology. "Just like the canaries are sensors for air quality, fish are sensors for water quality."

More toxins without a clear understanding how they got there.

Please detoxify.

10/30

An environmental doctor is call for “ALL residents of Flin Flon should be tested to see if they have been exposed to high levels of lead, mercury and arsenic” because of the mining that has gone on in that community. Read the story here.

There is increased awareness of the dangers of exposure to heavy metals like lead, arsenic and mercury and unfortunately the more we look for these toxins the more we find it.

Please detoxify.

10/29

Lead is not the only dangerous substance out there. Here is a very disturbing report about phthalates that are very common in toys and often find there way into child’s mouths and their detrimental effect on the sexual development of infant boys as it limits the production of testosterone. This is potentially serious.

The United States remains one of the few developed countries to permit the import of plastic toys made with polyvinyl chloride additives called phthalates (pronounced tha-lates), which help make toys soft and pliable enough to be twisted or sucked yet durable enough to survive a 1-year-old's grip. A mounting body of scientific evidence suggests that phthalates impede the production of testosterone and disrupt the sexual development of infant boys.

Good article, read more here.

Please detoxify.

10/26

Here is a story about the dangers of electronic waste to young children, but this also merits consideration and caution in North America with the increasing amount of electronic waste being dumped and disposed of in North America .

"A study in China has found harmful chemical compounds in the breast milk of women living near places where electronic waste is dumped and recycled, and this could pose a health risk to their infants too, say scientists."

"Electronic waste, also known as e-waste, consists of broken or unwanted electrical or electronic appliances including computers, televisions and mobile phones that have been discarded. They are considered poisonous and are not biodegradable."

It is important to be conscious of the heavy metals in electronic products and how exposed you and your children are. Please detoxify.

10/25

Here is a good article reviewing the incidence of lead exposure recently.

"Earlier this year, Wal-Mart recalled more than 10,000 vinyl bibs made in China because they contained lead. Other toxic imports have included lipstick, toothpaste, seafood, children’s lunch boxes, pet food and Cub Scout merit badges"

There is a real need to monitor and test, our hair test is a viable option and if there is exposure our Oral Chelation Detox Heavy Metals is something that can be used to help detoxify.

10/24

CNN is reporting a sad story of a small village in China, labeled as the Cancer Village.

"Twenty-eight people in this village of 400 have died over the last 10 years from cancer -- a rate much higher than the rest of country. The overall mortality rate for 2006 was 137 deaths per 100,000 residents." The exposure is believed to be related to an Iron Ore Mine up river and it is thought that

Mining for iron-ore exposes naturally occurring heavy metals like arsenic and cadmium, which are both carcinogens

Pollution is a huge problem in China and anyone who lives near an Iron Ore Mine should be cautious but as the CNN story points out

It can also impact the U.S. food supply. "The amount of food imported from China has grown dramatically in the past decade. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the United States imported $4.1 billion worth of seafood and agricultural products from China in 2006. In 1995, it was $800 million."

"In June, the United States banned five types of fish and shrimp from China because inspectors found traces of cancer-causing chemicals and antibiotics in the products."

China’s pollution problems are our problems too. Please detoxify.

10/23

From this story 70% of world’s e-waste(computers, electronics, cell phones, etc) is being shipped to China and the people of China are getting sick.

“People who live near electronics recycling sites in China have higher levels of harmful chemical compounds in their bodies, a study finds. Toxins including dioxins and furans were found to be elevated in women's breast milk, meaning they could pose a special risk to breast-fed infants. Electronic waste is rapidly becoming a major recycling problem as the lifetime of computers shrinks and as more people worldwide acquire devices such as cellphones.”

If you live near where electronic products are disposed of, you could be exposed.

Please detoxify.

Tests reveal high chemical levels in kids' bodies

Here is a CNN story that should concern all parents and franklly everyone.

As a couple had their children tested for toxins in their blood:

tests revealed that their children -- Rowan, then 18 months, and Mikaela, then 5 -- had chemical exposure levels up to seven times those of their parents.

"[Rowan's] been on this planet for 18 months, and he's loaded with a chemical I've never heard of," Holland said. "He had two to three times the level of flame retardants in his body that's been known to cause thyroid dysfunction in lab rats."

Read the story here

Link to some of the sources of chemicals in products around the house

We all must learn to take care about the chemicals going into our body and do all we can to detoxify. At the very least help your liver the primary detoxification organ in the body that can get overwhelmed. Our Liver Support Product is a good start.

Toxins and Halloween,

Here is an article about toxins in Halloween costumes and how to be safer at Halloween.

"Young kids gravitate to those moulded vinyl superhero masks, well, like Lex Luthor to kryponite. And for big kids, shiny vinyl seems to be a prerequisite in the sexy nurse/Catwoman category."

"Besides being eerily polluting to manufacture, vinyl, aka PVC, is often stabilized with lead or cadmium, and the pliable type has hormone-disrupting, liver-damaging phthalates that can offgas – not the kind of thing you want to be inhaling on All Hallows' Eve, or any other night of the year. And you definitely don't want to be sucking on the stuff via vinyl fangs."

It is becoming clearer many aspects of our life expose us to toxins and heavy metals and we need to be conscious of this and detoxify.

Important tips for children to help avoid lead poisoning - Read more here

"Few children actually eat paint chips. Most cases of lead poisoning are caused by dust they breathe in or suck off their hands and fingers. Lead dust is caused by friction, such as the opening and closing of windows and doors; walking on lead-painted stairs, floors or porches; and running of hands over a lead-painted handrail. Toddlers are at the highest risk because of both their hand-to-mouth activity, and the fact that their lungs and brain cannot filter out lead as well as an adult's can,"

Lead is very dangerous to children in particular and hair testing is a way to screen your child for the lead exposure.

10/13

This is how the cosmetic industry defends itself relative to lead in lipstick:

The trade association acknowledged "negligible" levels of lead in some lipsticks but said it is not intentionally added.

"Consumers are exposed daily to lead when they eat, drink water and breathe," said John Bailey, an executive vice president at the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association.

"The average amount of lead a woman would be exposed to when using cosmetics is 1,000 times less than the amount she would get from eating, breathing and drinking water that meets Environmental Protection Agency drinking-water standard"

This does point out the real threat we have from lead in day to day life, but for it to be in lipstick is very problematic.

'The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said Friday it would look into claims from an advocacy group that certain lipsticks contain potentially dangerous levels of lead.' Read more here.

It is important to get to the bottom of this quickly. In the meantime one should exhibit great care and detoxify.

Lead exposure is very dangerous.

10/11

The exposure to lead continues and now it is found in more than ½ of the leading brand name lipsticks.

Here is this report in the Boston Globe: “The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is releasing today product test results that found that more than half of 33 brand-name lipsticks tested contained lead. The lead levels in one-third of the lipstick samples, purchased from retailers in four cities, including Boston, exceeded 0.1 parts per million, which is the federal lead limit for candy.”

As horrific as the pervasiveness of lead in lipstick appears to be,  it is also unsettling to know that there is a lead safety level standard for candy?

It is imperative to take responsibility for your health and body; avoiding lead exposure is seemingly impossible.   It is crucial to detoxify and we recommend our Oral Chelation Detox Heavy Metals Plus Formula.

10/10

Here in this story from the Atlanta Journal-Consitution something else to be concerned about:  accidents and mistakes in the labs across the United States working with infectious agents like tuberculosis, typhoid fever, SARS which could cause disaster through accident or following into the hands of terrorists.

The Associated Press and the Government Accountability Office reported last week that American laboratories handling dangerous material have experienced more than 100 accidents and missing shipments since 2003. Some of the laboratories have failed to report the accidents as required by law, investigators said

As we say constantly it is important to detoxify but to also maintain your liver and increase your antioxdants to aid in detoxification and maximizing immunity.

Here is report from Canada show that pollution and household toxins are taking a heavy toll:

“The disturbing results, published in an online journal last week, show that as many as 25,000 deaths, 24,000 new cases of cancer and the birth of 2,500 low-birth-weight babies can be linked to environmental hazards each year.”

“Mr. Boyd has identified more than 50 different chemical ingredients present in pesticides alone that are banned in other counties, including 2,4-D, which is used in lawn and garden products, and Atrazine, a pesticide used on corn.”

“ Canada also allows many dangerous plastic softeners and fragrances called Phthalates that are banned in Europe.”

Please read the disturbing story here.

Please detoxify.

CNN is reporting

"In the largest environmental settlement in Justice Department history, American Electric Power has agreed to install $4.6 billion in equipment to sharply reduce emissions at coal-fired power plants in five states, sources said."

They quoted former Attorney General, “ When children can't breathe because of pollution from a utility plant hundreds of miles away, something must be done.”

The magnitude of the pollution and the amount of toxins that these plants produced and were breathed in by innocent American is staggering. All of us should strongly considering detoxifying.

In Utah , State Officials are warning against eating fish caught in Utah lakes:

State officials have issued a fish consumption advisory for channel catfish from the Utah County lake after their flesh was found to contain high levels of polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs.

There are also calls for testing of fish for toxins across the whole state. Utah is generally consider to be cleaner than other states, if there are toxins there, we should be careful of the toxins in the waterways where we live. Please detoxify.

10/4

Boy Scout Badges are the latest kid related item to be recalled because of lead paint contamination.

This report also lists some other new toys:

Also on the list are half a million other items. Pirates of the Caribbean flashlights, soft textured Baby Einstein blocks, Totally Me Funky Room Décor set sold by Toys 'R Us, and a variety of wooden toys sold by K-B Toys.

It is increaingsly necessary to test your children’s toys for lead and test your child for lead. Be also aware of any old paint around the house on old furniture that might contain lead to.

Please detoxify and consider our Detox Heavy Metals Plus Oral Chelation Formula.

10/3

Here is another report of heavy metal toxins in playgrounds, this time in Flin Flon, Manitoba.

“The Manitoba government is warning that children in Flin Flon should keep their hands away from their mouths if they’re playing in a sandbox or on a swing set, fearing they could ingest harmful metals ranging from arsenic and lead to mercury and copper.”

“Out of the 93 Flin Flon sites that were tested for arsenic, a known carcinogen, 58 soil samples exceeded safety levels, including 16 playgrounds and one schoolyard.”

The source of the toxins was reported to be a large mine and smelting facility in the city.

Exposure to heavy metal toxins is a reality for many people and the need to detoxify is serious.

10/2

The Chinese heavy metal tainting also extends to pet toys.

"Two Chinese-made toys for pets sold at Wal-Mart stores contain elevated levels of lead, chromium, and cadmium, according to a forensic toxicologist whose lab tested the products for" ConsumerAffairs.com.

This story continues to expand and level of contamination is staggering and the need to detoxify is reinforced.

10/1

There is increased concern that the artificial fields made from ground up tires may be releasing toxins.

"Released in August by the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, the study found that under laboratory conditions, ground rubber tires that cushion the turf may release carcinogens in the air and in stormwater runoff". Read more here.

This is another stark warning that toxins are around us where we work, live and play.

We all need to detoxify.

9/30

The list of lead tainted toys keeps expanding and includes

"Barbie Doll's dog, bongo drums, trains, watercolor kits, duck-shaped watering cans, jewelry sets, spiral-bound books, dinosaurs and garden gloves."

"Other Common items that might contain hazardous levels of lead include old wall paint, clothing, glassware, candy from Mexico, pottery, gasoline, herb concoctions, certain home remedies, soil and even dust."

More and more recognition is taking place that testing is necessary. Our hair test is an alternative.

9/27

Here are some important tips for child safety from lead poisoning:

"Throwing away toys with chipped paint, deteriorated plastic, or damaged parts is a smart, immediate way to remove lead-based painted toys from your home. The US government provides a website, www.recalls.gov, where parents can check to see if toys in their toy boxes have been recalled for the tainted paint." Read the article here.

Please also consider detoxification for existing exposure.

A grandmother is leading a campaign against lead. Read more here..

Furer obtained a lead kit from a hardware store and tested the five lunchboxes in the house. She found three of them contained lead. The next year, Furer tested the baby bibs of her 3-month-old grandchild that were manufactured in China and was shocked by what she found.

This lead from China story is so pervasive and serious. There is a real need to test and detoxify.

From the USA Today tips for parents with regard to lead jewelry.

Tips for parents and other caregivers concerned about lead in children's jewelry or toys:

• Remind children frequently not to suck on jewelry or toys and to avoid putting their hands in their mouths. Children ages 2-6 tend to do this the most often.
• Keep small items such as rings, charms and toy pieces out of reach of children under age 6 to reduce the risk they will swallow them.
• Check cpsc.gov to see if any jewelry or toys in your house have been recalled for lead.
• You can buy a home lead test to check items of concern that haven't been recalled. But if your child has been mouthing any jewelry, take it away and ask your doctor about a blood test for lead.
• Look for signs of lead: cheap kids' jewelry that feels heavy and metal jewelry y that looks black when paint chips off.

Our hair test is something that you can use non-intrusively to test your child for lead and other heavy metals.

9/5

Precautions for children with regard to lead poisoning:

"The American Academy of Pediatrics says toys with cracked or peeling paint should be taken away.  Hands should be washed regularly.  Also, a good diet of calcium and iron helps reduce the amount of lead absorbed by the body. But the best defense is to stay informed"

However, for the lead already in the children Oral Chelation Detox Heavy Metals is something to consider.

9/4

Mattel Inc., the world's largest toymaker, announced its third recall in five weeks after finding about 848,000 Chinese-made Barbie and Fisher-Price products with paint that may contain excessive levels of lead. Bloomberg.com

The lead issue with toys continues to worsen and the necessity of testing your children for lead poisoning is becoming more critical. We offer hair testing for poisoning and our oral chelation can help children detoxify.

9/3

The lead poisoning continues with CBC reporting a recall of pencils made in China.

"Health Canada issued the recall, saying the sets have more than 600 milligrams of lead per kilogram, which means they cannot be sold or advertised, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported."

"The pencils, which are manufactured in China, do not pose a risk unless a child chews or sucks on them, the CBC reported."

Read more in Science Daily.

It is becoming clear that this lead poisoning is very widespread and the need to detoxify is real.

8/30

Assemblyman Pedro Nava of California Fish is pushing a bill to take lead out of ammunition.

"We've taken the lead out of gasoline. We've taken the lead out of paint. This country is in an uproar over lead that's in your children's toys. There's no question that lead is toxic."

Lead ammunition is thought to be at the heart of the problems with lead poisoning and Californian Condors in this report.

"One of the sick condors died at the Los Angeles Zoo just last week after being brought in for treatment. Though necropsy results are pending, it had the second highest levels of lead poisoning ever measured among condors."

8/29

With all this recent talk of lead poisoning--here is some historical perspective of how deadly lead poisoining is, from Playbill

"Two years ago, studies of a few of Ludwig van Beethoven's surviving remains — some strands from a lock of hair and a couple of skull fragments — offered persuasive evidence that the composer had died of lead poisoning. A new study argues that much of that lead came from medicine administered by Beethoven's own doctor during his final illness."

Lead is still very harmful today.

8/28

From USA Today is the following quote that emphasizes although there has been much hype about tainted toys from China, the major threat is lead paint in older homes.

"The world has found new reasons to fear lead exposure in children with the recall of Chinese-made toys decorated with lead paint. Pediatricians say that lead paint on toys is indeed a risk but that the greater risk continues to come from lead paint in older homes."

This is a good reminder of the long term threat that has been with us for a long time and it is still there. Please test for lead poisoning and detoxify.

8/27

Now Candies from Mexico have high levels of lead in them.

FoxNews.com is reporting a warning about candy imported from Mexico that may be contaminated with lead has been issued by the Oklahoma Poison Control center.

"The warning comes after recent testing of two candies, Barrilito and Miguelito, by the California Department of Public Health found that Barrilito contained 0.15 parts per million of lead and Miguelito contained 0.13 parts per million of lead"

All these incidences and reports of lead poisoning are serious but still only about lead there are many more toxic heavy metals that are around us and could easily be in many day to day items too. Detoxification is really the only option and we think our Detox Heavy Metals Oral Chelation is a very good option.

8/26

More information on the damage from lead:

"The toxic effects of lead vary from patient to patient depending on age, amount of exposure, and other factors. In children, virtually no organ system is immune to the effects of lead poisoning. However, the organ of most concern is the developing brain."

Because of the news coverage of lead we have focused on its effects but there are other toxic heavy metals that require scrutiny. You can read more about eh sources and symptoms in our website. The good thing is Detox Heavy Metals Oral Chelation helps detoxify all of them.

8/25

More information on other sources of lead:

The U.S. Department of Labor lists more than 900 occupations that are associated with lead use. These occupations include lead workers, welders, glassmakers, and scrap-metal workers. Parents employed in any of these occupations may bring lead dust on their skin, hair or clothing into the home.

"Some hobbies are associated with exposures to lead. These hobbies may include making bullets, making fishing-weights, soldering, indoor firearm shooting, as well as remodeling older homes."

It is important to review all your and your children's exposure to lead and try and reduce them, but also consider Oral Chelation for your existing exposure and for other heavy metal toxins.

8/24

This Mattel/Fisher Price recalls of tainted from China here is a story from the Gulf News serving the Gulf States in the Middle East . This is a world wide story where children from all around the world have been exposed to lead as a result.

One of the important points that this story makes is:

"A single large dose can cause a medical emergency but lead poisoning is more commonly caused by gradual exposure over time."

With heavy metals the toxicity increases over time and that is why you should consider oral chelation to help detoxify the lead.

8/23

We are continuing to track the lead poisoning and toy issue.

A list of the recalled toys can be found on the Consumer Products Safety Commission’s Web site, http://www.cpsc.gov/.

From the MountainTimes.com is this information on the damage lead causes.

“Lead poisoning can affect nearly every system in the body, and some children may never show signs of an illness, the statement said. However, lead exposure can delay physical and mental development and cause learning disabilities and behavioral problems, as well as slow muscle and bone growth and damage to the central nervous system and kidneys.”

If you are concerned about lead poisoning for your children or anyone else we recommend our Hair Test Kit. And if you have been exposed we recommend our Detox Heavy Metals Oral Chelation.

Read more at Lead Paint Exposure page.

8/22

There is no reason or justification for using lead in products intended for use by children. There is no useful purpose for lead in the body, and even low levels in a child's blood can result in permanent damage to the brain

Parents should also be aware, however, that the number one risk of lead poisoning for children is deteriorating lead-based paint and paint dust found in homes built before 1978. For more from this story..

Testing is important and Extreme Health offers hair tests that can assess heavy metal toxicity.

8/21

We can now add costume jewelry from China to the list of dangerous lead tainted products that pose a hazard to children.

On average for the beginning of 2007, the Consumer Product Safety Commission was issuing a recall for products that posed an unacceptable lead or chemical danger every single week. Also of the 36 recalls, 21 were for children's costume jewelry (19 from China, 2 from India).

Since a majority of toys are now made in China it is becoming incumbent on parents to review all their children's toys. We also recommend you consider Oral Chelation Detox Heavy Metals.

8/20

This story details the lead poisoning of children worldwide.

It makes this salient point.

“The lead oxide in paint chips tastes sweet to a child, especially at that age when everything goes in the mouth.”

This story is heartbreaking from China.

“One nine-year-old boy living in a village close to a lead factory in the Gansu province of China describes how he felt. "I always feel dizzy.  I feel the pain in my legs after a short walk.  Sometimes I cannot remember the assignment given by the teacher.  I often vomit, too."

“Zhou Wen-yuan's blood lead levels were reportedly five times greater than normal.”

As the story says lead poisoning must end and lead paint must be safely cleaned up.

8/19

American industry is still releasing a great deal of lead into the environment. Here is a major example:

The Courier Post rates Burlington County in New Jersey the most polluted and these are the amounts of lead released by its top 5 polluters of lead:

"Griffin Pipe Products in Florence ranked No. 1 in the state with 3,819 pounds of lead released into the air, U.S. Pipe & Foundry in Burlington City was number four with 804 pounds released and Fort Dix was number five with 607 pounds of lead."

Even if your kids don’t have lead tainted toys nor bibs from China nor are exposed to lead paint, if you live in an industrial region there is still a considerable risk of lead exposure. Given lead’s drastic effects on children’s cognitive development chelation is something parents should consider.

8/18

The more the lead exposure issue gets explored the more widespread the problem is.

Here is a quote from a New York Times story:

Toys “R” Us halted the sale of vinyl baby bibs at its stores nationwide yesterday and offered customers refunds on perhaps more than a million bibs after tests confirmed that at least some of the Chinese-made items are contaminated with lead.

Baby's bibs, this is serious and should make it clear how widespread the exposure to heavy metal toxins are and why you should strongly consider taking matters into your own hands and detoxing with our Oral Chelation Detox Heavy Metals Formula and our Liver Cellular Rejuvenation Support Formula.

8/17

The lead paint problem does not only come from China

Here is a story in Washington Post, “The District's attorney general finished filing a dozen cases yesterday against city landlords and property owners, trying to force them to get rid of lead paint in their buildings.”

Lead paint in apartments, homes and old furniture is a huge problem in the United States.

If you believe you or your children are or have been exposed to lead paint, please consider our Detox Heavy Metals Oral Chelation Formula.

8/16

This headline is scary: “ China's problems with lead go beyond toys”

This story says “ one-fifth of Chinese children tested had unsafe levels in their blood.”

From playthings to paint to gasoline, Chinese companies use lead in a wide range of products

This is serious for Chinese parents but for Americans too given the amount of Chinese exports that come into the United States Lead is a very serious toxin and you can look at the instructions and dosages for our Oral Chelation Heavy Metal Detox Formula here.

8/15

As you can see if you read our daily update here, heavy metal toxins are all around us, but this Mattel recall of toys with lead paint is huge.

"The San Diego Union reports that the recall includes 7.3 million play sets, including Polly Pocket dolls and Batman action figures, and 253,000 die cast cars that contain lead paint."

Our Oral Chelation Detox Heavy Metals Formula is something that should be strongly considered in the face of this exposure to lead paint.

8/14

We generally believe that the level of toxins are being reduced and government is working to cut down those emissions.

Reports such as this one in the Detroit News details how the E PA and the state of Indiana are allowing BP to increase the toxins released into Lake Michigan

Mayor Dalely of Chicago thinks the idea is “unacceptable”.

“The Indiana permit will allow BP to dump more treated wastewater into the lake, including 54% more ammonia and 35% more solids. The Chicago Tribune says its analysis shows that the company will be allowed to put off until 2012 a reduction in the amount of mercury it dumps into the lake, though Indiana regulators have already predicted that BP won't be able to meet the 2012 date and will simply make another request for more time.”

It is crucial to consider that you must be responsible for detoxifying and be particularly aware of the heavy metal toxins like mercury you are being exposed to. Chelation is a viable option to consider.

8/13

In this report from Australia the question is raised Cleaning with toxins isn't really cleaning

Modern products are full of harmful chemicals. Michael Girowal was in real estate, fielding calls from a constant cycle of tenants complaining that the products their cleaners had used left them with headaches, allergies or an increase in their asthma symptoms.

There are serious questions to investigate about many cleaning products and if you use them detoxification is something that should be strongly considered.

8/10

Another day another report of another neighbourhood in a major US City with heavy metal toxins discovered.

This time in Fort Lauderdale from Channel 10:

"Lincoln Park neighborhood residents met Wednesday night to discuss the State Department of Health findings of lead, aresenic and dioxin in soil, and also to talk about a plan of action."

Can anyone be sure of their level of exposure to heavy metal toxins?

8/9

The Detroit News is reporting

Recent tests conducted on Central City Park showed the soil and groundwater contained high levels of lead, arsenic and other toxins, county officials said today.

Here is another example of serious heavy metal toxins in the heart of a city. It grows harder and harder to ignore the heavy level of toxins we are exposed and why we strongly recommend our Detox Heavy Metals Oral Chelation

8/8

Katrina survivors living in FEMA trailers are suing over the toxins in their trailers.

"Formaldehyde, a common preservative and embalming fluid, sometimes is found in building materials that are used in manufactured homes. The chemical can cause respiratory problems and possibly cancer in high doses or with prolonged exposure." Read more here.

This is yet again another reminder of the toxins that are in our living environments and how we cannot rely on government to necessarily protect us or even inform us of toxins.

8/7

It is a real necessary step for both speed and application to humans, finding alternatives to using animals to test for toxins effects on humans. This is also welcome news that mainstream science is recognizing the impact of toxins.

"After years of frustration with traditional methods for testing the toxicity of chemicals in the environment, scientists are working to adapt faster, simpler screening methods that do not require animals, now used by the pharmaceutical industry to identify potential drug candidates, according to an article scheduled for the August 6 issue of Chemical & Engineering News." Read more here.

As global trade grows and we are increasingly dependent on imported food the threat from toxins around the world rises:  We have recently chronicled stories about toxins coming from China and Indonesia, now this story about toxins in food from India.

Increasingly,  toxins are coming into our bodies and homes via food.

8/3

In a disconcerting move after having many of  its export products banned, “China has banned all Indonesian seafood imports after checks turned up toxins, China's food authority says.
The (CGAQSIQ) said Indonesian products under inspection were tainted with mercury and cadmium - metals that can accumulate in water and soil as a result of burning garbage, mining, or other industrial processes.” Read more here.

Toxins are global and wherever in the world they are released they may easily come to affect to you.

8/2

In Fayetteville, North Carolina there is this sad story of benzene leaking into the water supply of some residents for years.

Children and staff at a nearby day care, which has a well tainted with chemicals besides benzene, must use bottled water to drink and wash their hands. Health officials found out about the tainted well in May, says Hassan Osman, a state hydrogeologist who has evaluated the water.

Benzene has been linked to cancer and several residents have been afflicted with the disease.

There is a lot of toxins that we absorb that are tasteless or in the air we breathe unknowingly. Detoxifying is a must.

8/1

Here is a story about New Zealand questioning the safety of aspartame that is found in Coke and Wrigleys Gum.

“The basic problem with aspartame in the eyes of its critics lies in the fact that food safety regulators and the standard medical profession themselves are either defensive or unaware of the health problems which aspartame may create when the synthetic sweetener breaks down in the human digestive system into three potential toxins, methanol, aspartic acid and phenylalanine>”

If this is true it is another example of toxins in our daily lives. Taking our LIver Support Formula is very prudent.

7/31

"An American scientific review recently released a report which stipulates that the Manganese substance contained in water could cause brain damage, when used regularly in showers."

It also raises the alarm that "that it is easier for this substance to get to the brain through aspiration then through foods or drink, because smell nerve cells acts as a direct vehicle of toxins to the brain."

The net result that a 10 minute daily shower can pose a danger in particular to developing brains.

Again we have an activity such as taking a shower which we do to cleanse ourselves potentially exposing us to deadly toxins.

We have to shower and we believe we have to detoxify.

7/30

A letter in Pantagraph.com summarizes a position that is gaining momentum and worth pondering.

"I tend to agree with Sandra Steingraber, author of ``Living Downstream,'' on the connection between cancer and the toxins in our environment.
Steingraber grew up in Central Illinois and connects her bladder cancer diagnosis as a young woman to industrial chemicals and pesticide use in Tazewell County."

"If the real problem is that our air, water and soil are already and continually polluted by the practices of industry and agriculture, what's a person to do?"

Our answer is detoxify daily, support your liver and boost your antioxidant consumption.

7/26

More from the same article we talked about yesterday which reinforces the need to detoxify.

"Butylparaben, Benzene, Bentonite, BHA, BHT, Bronopol and Benzoic Acid may not be in our everyday vocabulary but they are in our everyday environment. We are in daily contact with these chemicals and so many more. The bad news is that there are 25 other letters in the alphabet and just as many chemicals associated with each one."

7/25

"There is no question that toxins are more prevalent in today's world than ever before. We are adding toxins to our bodies on a daily basis. It is important to find a safe way to eliminate these harmful chemicals as quickly as we are adding them."

Could not agree with more with this sentiment in this article. This sums up the goal of this blog and why we want consumers to look at our products especially our chelation, liver support and antioxidants.

7/24

The world air transportation system with all the jets in the air is becoming an increasing significant source of toxins and polluiotn

In the Toronto Star, “Jets release toxins such as nitrogen oxide and sulphur oxide high in the atmosphere, making them far more potent and harmful to the environment than ground-level sources. According to the British government, because of the altitude at which planes pollute, about one tonne of carbon dioxide from an aircraft is roughly equivalent to 2.5 tonnes released by a car. These toxins become stagnant in the atmosphere and stay there for up to 100 years, trapping heat and contributing to global warming.”

Please detoxify.

7/23

"Unsafe levels of toxic chlorine pollutants were found in 40 percent of the District of Columbia tap water samples tested during a spring chlorine surge, according to a study released Thursday."

Read more here, but take action to detoxify as you are likely exposed to a wide variety of toxins daily.

7/20

"FEMA’s trailers may hold toxins-"

" Pressed by an angry House committee, FEMA Administrator David Paulison promised Thursday to warn tens of thousands of displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina that agency trailers they live in might be contaminated with dangerously high levels of formaldehyde gas."

Those poor people that continue to suffer 2 years after Katrina; but FEMA's problems aside, this again underscores how widespread dangerous toxins are in our world. Please detoxify and keep your liver in top shape with our Liver Support Formula.

7/19

Not only must we be wary of toxins that are produced locally around us, but the transportation of dangerous goods near where we live can cause us problems.

"A train carrying yellow phosphorus derailed in western Ukraine, releasing a cloud of toxic gas into the air over 14 villages. Twenty people were hospitalized and hundreds evacuated on Tuesday, officials said." reports Time.

Since the liver is the major organ of detoxification it is important to keep it in prime shape because you can never be sure what toxins you are being exposed to and when you will be exposed to toxins.

7/18

Continuing with the important story from yesterday:

“The fish method was effective years ago when the most dangerous toxins were PCBs and DDT, new chemicals have different properties and the old standard doesn't apply.”

Co-author Frank Gobas, says "about a third of all industrial chemicals are currently wrongly assessed in terms of their potential effects in mammals, birds and humans."

This is a major problem and underscores how little we understand toxins and their effect upon us. How much disease has its origins in toxins that we are exposed to? Detoxification and Liver Support should be carefully evaluated by everyone.

7/17

The headline screams.”We may be more toxic than we think.”

“Researchers at Simon Fraser University have found methods used to calculate chemical levels in humans may seriously underestimate our true toxic loads. That's because current international standards are based on fish instead of air-breathing animals. As a result, thousands of chemicals -- from pesticides to perfumes -- are likely not being measured properly, leading to lower estimates of our environmental toxin load.”

Science is trying to come to terms with to measure toxins and then how many toxins we have and harmful they are. Using fish as a proxy for humans to gauge toxins has obvious shortcomings, but not unlike the old debate over cigarettes and how harmful they are to humans; the complexity, diversity and sheer volume of toxins will take a long to fully detail and archive. However, that doesn’t mean that they are not causing us harm today and we cannot start detoxing now.

7/16

UPI is reporting the following:

An enormous BP oil refinery in Indiana is planning to pour significantly more ammonia and industrial sludge into Lake Michigan, it was reported.

The article outlines this runs counter to years of cleaning up Great Lakes with the exemption coming from the creation of 80 new jobs and a 3.8 billion expansion.

This is another example of how many toxins are put into our environment and despite all this talk about going green how major toxins continue to be released. And that detoxification is something that should be considered by everyone.

7/12

There are many kinds and types of toxins that we are exposed to. Here is a story about toxins that impair ability to detoxify by impeding the liver and kidneys.

"Phthalates are toxic to the liver and kidneys. The liver is responsible for the PRODUCTION of enzymes necessary for detoxification. The kidneys are the bloods main detoxification organ. It's not rocket science to realise that regularly ingesting and absorbing toxic household phthalates through the skin, lungs, nose and gut are going to impair liver and kidney function and, therefore the production of detoxification enzymes."

Please consider our Liver Support Formula to help your overwhelmed liver detoxify.

7/11

Here is a chilling story from the Wall Street Journal

“High levels of toxic lead turning up in cheap jewelry from China are prompting recalls in the U.S. But some of the lead used by these Chinese manufacturers comes from an unconventional source: computers and other electronic goods discarded in Western countries and dumped in China”

This is a double whammy. We are exposed to high levels of toxic heavy metals and our Oral Chelation Detox Heavy Metals is something to strongly consider.

PlanetChiropractor.com details the toxins in the water.

"The real threat is the remarkable cocktail of additional stuff the water may be carrying. Lead, arsenic, PCBs, pesticides, radioactive nucleotides and mercury are quite common in the world"s water supply these days, not to mention the poisons added on purpose, such as fluoride and chlorine."

Taking our Complete Detoxification Program is highly recommended in this increasingly toxic world.

The vast quantity of toxins that are discharged into our environments is staggering. Consider this report about Puget Sound.

Every day, industry and municipal sewage treatment plants dump 1 billion gallons of wastewater tainted with toxic chemicals and oxygen-robbing nutrients into Puget Sound and its tributaries.

The steady stream of wastewater from nearly 1,000 sources — ranging from giant oil refineries to boatyards — is allowed under a federal permitting system created with the passage of the 1972 Clean Water

Detoxification is the only reasonable response to this onslaught of toxins.

It is not only big companies evidently emit dangerous toxins into the environment.  A report in Toronto says that 80% of the toxins in that city are from small businesses.

The report says 11,000 Toronto businesses contribute a significant amount of cancer-causing chemicals. These air pollutants, such as chromium, mercury and lead, can also cause breathing problems.

It identifies a total of 25 toxic chemicals stores, such as drycleaners and auto body shops, produce.

The lesson here maybe that even though you do not live by a big industrial site with smoke stacks you may still be exposed to a variety of deadly toxins and have a need to detoxify.

Here is a report about how the level of toxins getting worse in the Great Lakes.

"Warnings about eating fish longer than 75 centimetres have been in place for years, as they accumulate toxics like mercury and furans in their fat over years. Now, fish around 55 centimetres long, which haven't had as much time to accumulate toxins, are starting to show dangerous levels. That's a sign that pollution has become more widespread, the report says".

This is a serious development and needs to be addressed. Again on a personal level detoxification is something that should be considered.

The American Cancer Society has an interesting article on its site.

“Nonsmokers who work in bars and restaurants that allow smoking have higher levels of cancer-causing chemicals from tobacco in their urine than nonsmokers working in smoke-free establishments, a new study says.”

Do we even now know how dangerous smoking is to the smoker or to nearby nonsmokers?

Taking our Liver Support Formula is prudent if you smoke or are exposed to second hand smoke..

Activist Lois Gibbs who helped bring and get action on the Love Canal recounts some of the history of getting a meaningful response from government.

The health department reluctantly came in, and found that 56 percent of the children were born with birth defects... (But) then they say, 'But we don't think it's related to the 20 thousand million toxic chemicals in the neighborhood.' They claimed we were a random clustering of genetically defective people."

It is essential to be responsible for understanding and identifying the toxins you are exposed to and detoxifying.

How much chemicals and toxins do women absorb from their use of make up and beauty products.  Here is a thought provoking debate with two sides of the issue.

"After three years researching conventional beauty products, biochemist Richard Bence, an advocate of organic beauty products, reported that the average woman absorbs a cocktail of 4lb 6oz of chemicals a year through her skin."

This like many other aspects of toxins is something that should be carefully studied.  Given that everything that you put on your skin for the most part is absorbed into your body --   Attention to what is in your cosmetics and beauty products is only prudent.    It is also wise to support your liver in its function to detoxify and eliminate toxins and chemicals that your body absorbs—Our Liver Support Formula is designed for this purpose.

In an ironic twist from a yesterday's previous story we featured reports about scares and bans on imports of a wide variety items from China, including food, in this report China is banning peas and lentils from Canada. Here is the story.

"The reason? The Canadian food contained selenium - an ingredient that is considered safe at moderate levels in North America and is sometimes even added to breakfast energy bars as a nutrient. Canada and the United States don't even test for it in food imports."

" Canada and the rest of the international community have a certain tolerance for cadmium in shellfish," said Clearwater chief operating officer Eric Roe. " China has a different standard."

It is important to respect that other nations and their research institutes may consider some forms of metals toxins and/or have higher restrictions of allowable consumption that our governments do for some very good reasons. This underscores our basic point of how little we know about what are toxins, how toxic some substances may be over time, especially when they accumulate overtime with other toxins.
